Since morning the internet has been buzzing with news about how actor and politician Govinda suffered an accidental gunshot injury at his Mumbai residence. The incident occurred early in the morning while he was getting ready for a trip to Kolkata, where he was scheduled to attend a garba event. Fortunately, Govinda was quickly taken to the hospital and is now out of danger.

Discussing the incident, DCP Dikshit Gedam informed ETimes, “No case has been filed. We will only take action if a formal complaint is made.”

And now, Govinda’s nephew and actor-comedian, Krushna Abhishek also taken to social media to provide an important update-

Govinda himself reassured his fans with a voice message, saying, “Namaskar, pranaam. This is Govinda. By the grace of your blessings, my parents, and my guru, I was shot, but the bullet has been removed. I would like to thank the doctors, especially Dr. Agarwal, and express my gratitude for all your prayers and support.”

His manager, Shashi Sinha, explained that the mishap occurred when Govinda’s revolver accidentally slipped from his hand, discharging a bullet that struck him below the knee. Meanwhile, his wife Sunita is returning to Mumbai from Kolkata, and the family is expected to release an official statement soon.
