Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt took their performance to a different level this year when they came out with Gully Boy on 14th February 2019.
Ranveer simply nailed his character of the Mumbai street boy Murad, while Alia, as his possessive yet loving girlfriend Safina, won hearts because of her performance. The movie gave birth to a new sense of rap culture in the country and the feeling is fresh even today.
A few days ago, Ranveer was even seen performing his heart out at the IIFA Awards Mumbai 2019 to his songs from Gully Boy. At that time, Ranveer surely didn’t imagine his film would be India’s official entry to the Oscars in the ‘Best Foreign Film Category’. Yes, that’s true. Gully Boy is India’s official entry for the Oscars and the country couldn’t be happier.
