The process of paring down the A-listers’ payment , during these times of crippling recession has begun.

One hears from reliable sources that producers are no longer willing to pay the superstars the price they want. While the remuneration for major superstars like Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan , Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar is yet to be normalized , the junior-most A-lister Tiger Shroff has been asked to bring his payscale down to a reasonable amount.

If sources are to be believed ,for the proposed comedy Bade Miyan Chote Miyan where Tiger shares screen space with Akshay Kumar, producer Vashu Bhagnani has asked, and got a discount from Tiger of approximately 10 crores.

Now ,producer Karan Johar known to be one of the most generous producers in Bollywood, has temporarily put his recently-announced Tiger actioner Screw Dheela on the backburner.

“Either Tiger would have to bring down his remuneration(from approximately Rs 35 crores to around 20 crores) . Or the film would have to be shelved,” says a source in the know.

Tiger’s call.
