Javed Akhtar is in no mood to back down in his criminal defamation case against Kangana Ranaut. According to sources close to the poet-thinker-activist the criminal legal suit that Javed filed against Kangana in 2020 will be “taken to its logical conclusion and no shortcuts.”
A source close to Javed Saab tells me, “There will be no compromise, no out-of-court-settlement. The other party is trying all sorts of tricks to divert the judiciary’s attention from Javed Saab’s defamation claims.”
According to this source Javed Saab isn’t ready to relent. “This court case has taken a toll on Javed Saab’s health, and he realizes that it’s going take a very long time to get justice . But Javed Saab is in this for the long haul.”
The source says the fight is not for him alone. “For too long , Kangana Ranaut has been making irresponsible statements about people in the entertainment industry. They are too civil or too frightened to take action.Someone had to bell the cat.”
