Vidya Balan is one of the finest and most talented actresses that we have in the Hindi entertainment industry. The actress has been ruling hearts of one and all right from the very beginning of her career and with every passing year, she gets better. The diva has been a flagbearer of women empowerment in her entire career and no wonder fans feel inspired. At a time when everyone trolled her for her sense of dressing and for being ‘overweight’ despite being a commercial Hindi cinema beroine, Vidya conquered all odds like a true queen. She never gave a damn about what people said about her outfit choices and that’s what makes her a true inspiration. While Vidya hasn’t spoken much on public platform about her ‘weight’ issue, she spoke her heart and mind at IAA Voice Of Change (Gender Portrayal From 30 Seconds To 3 Hours). At the event, she was quoted as saying,
“Not many people know that I have dealt with hormonal issues. I couldn’t lose weight at times even when I wanted to. But slowly and steadily, I realized that ‘heroes come in all shape and forms’. I remember that when any director came up to me and asked, ‘can you lose some weight for this project or that project?’, I would tell them that I would do it for myself and not for you. I told them if you want a certain body, I am not the actor. My portrayal made Sulu in the movie ‘Tumhari Sulu’ look a lot more real. Her character dressed up in a certain way and it looked quite realistic. However, I strongly feel that if director Suresh Triveni didn’t feel that I could pull the character off, it wouldn’t have been possible.”
