Sai Tamhankar is one of the most popular and talented actresses of the Indian entertainment industry and the diva has done phenomenal work, especially when it comes to Marathi content. Not just Marathi, Sai has done impactful performances in movies like Hunter & Love Sonia which are critically-acclaimed Hindi movies. However, after Love Sonia in the year 2016, it took Sai quite a long time to bag a Hindi project.
During an exclusive conversation with IWMBuzz, when Sai was asked about the same as to why did filmmakers not consider her for Hindi projects after it, she was quoted as saying,
“Well, I really wish I had the answer to it. Had I known the answer, I would have figured out myself because I genuinely don’t know why. Maybe people have formed a certain perception about me after my bold & hot roles and that stereotype might have been a possibility. I am someone who is extremely scared to get typecast. But yes, I genuinely hope that with Mimi, things change and people get to see me do more content in Hindi as well more frequently. There’s ‘India Lockdown’ as well by Madhur Bhandarkar where my role is pretty different to what I have done earlier. I am excited and looking forward with a positive mindset.”
It is to be noted that Sai had earlier spoken about how an industry professional made indecent proposals to her suggesting going through a casting couch to bag a big film. When Sai was further asked about whether that incident broke her emotionally, the Mimi actress concluded saying,
“Well, I really feel that I have better things to do in life. Why on Earth should I feel hurt or upset about what someone else thinks about me. If someone is having dirty thoughts in their mind about me, it is their thing. I just don’t want to give it any importance. I am very self-sufficient that way. I don’t prefer wasting time thinking about people having dirty thoughts about me. It is completely their problem. If anyone says anything which they shouldn’t, I certainly know how to handle it the right way. I am clear about where I want to reach in life and by what means so these things don’t distract or bother me.” Check out the entire conversation here below –
