Superstar Yash has now officially confirmed that he will portray Ravan in Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming film Ramayana.

The project will also feature Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and Sai Pallavi as Sita. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Yash shared his enthusiasm for playing Ravan, describing it as the most intriguing role in the epic. He mentioned that, if offered any other character, he would decline, as he finds Ravan’s complexities particularly appealing and sees an opportunity to bring a fresh perspective to the character.

Yash also touched on the casting of Ranbir and Sai Pallavi, explaining that Ranbir was already part of the project when he came on board. As for Sai Pallavi, he said that the decision to cast her was collaborative, noting that Nitesh Tiwari had always envisioned her for the role of Sita. Yash agreed with the choice, calling it a strong selection.

Since images have been surfacing regarding the shoot of Ramayana which includes Ranbir and Sai dressed as Ram and Sita, fans have been divided on their outlook towards the same. Many suggest that the pairing of Ranbir and Sai is fresh and exciting also applauding Sai’s talent and her deserving to be in the film; on the other hand many still have their doubts about the casting call.

This marks the first official confirmation of the cast for Ramayana, a film that is rumored to have a budget of Rs 835 crore and aims to captivate audiences in both India and abroad.
