Kaali Poster Evoking Hindu Sentiments, Demands To Arrest The Director Leena Manimekalai

A recently shared kaali poster is circulating the internet of a documentary movie with #arrestleenamanimekalai.

A documentary film poster is trending on the social media platform, Twitter with #arrestleenamanimekalai. The viewers claimed that the poster offended the Hindu religious sentiments on social media. One can witness that, Director Leena Mainemekalai portrayed Hindu Goddess Maa kaali smoking a cigarette on the poster.

The director shared a poster and wrote ”Super Thrilled to share the launch of my recent film today at Aga Khan Museum. A 6-minute excerpt of the film, ”Kaali” will be shown today as part of Aga Khan Museum’s ”Rhythms of Canada”, a week-long festival celebrating the diverse tapestry of Canadian Culture. Entrance to the event and the Museum’s permanent collection Gallery during the festival is free.”

One of the users wrote, ”This is blasphemy and hurts Hindu religious sentiment,” and asked the Museum to remove this movie.

While another user named Chandra Prakash Singh tweeted, ”Every day Hindu religion is mocked, is government, testing our patience??.”

Also, he appealed to Indian Home Minister Amit Shah and PM Modi to take action against it. And in response, the other user said, ”Please don’t forget how we were questioned for hurting religious sentiments & needful action must be taken,”

”Ashamed of you…maa, Kaali will punish you for your act. You won’t be pardoned for you mocking the goddess,” tweeted a Hindu user.
