Mahesh Babu’s film crosses 100 crores in first weekend, impromptu party held

Mahesh Babu and the team of his super-hit Telugu film Sarileru Neekevvaru are in the mood to party. With the collections touching 100 crores in the first three days, the joyous team decided to have a spontaneous celebration on Monday evening at Mahesh Babu and his wife Namrata’s residence.

“It was just an on-the-spot decision. We felt so happy with the way the film was performing—it is staggering!—so everyone in the team got together at our residence. I wouldn’t even call it a party. Mahesh doesn’t like parties. It was more a get-together because we wanted to share our happiness with one another,” says Namrata.

With Sarileru Neekevvaru poised to become one of the biggest hits of Mahesh Babu’s career, the Superstar seems happier than he usually is.

Says Mahesh Babu, “I must confess this I am allowing myself to feel satisfied. We never expected the collections to go through the roof. Of course we wanted our film to be a super-hit and we worked hard and did our best. But we never expected these kinds of numbers. It’s like a wave!”

In some centers of Andhra Pradesh, Sarileru Neekevvaru has crossed the box-office collections of Baahubali and its sequel.

“It is crazy! Beyond anything we had expected,” adds Mahesh’s better-half Namrata who plans to whisk away her husband and children for a holiday before Mahesh starts his next film.
