Nicolas Cage, one of the prominent and pioneer actors from Hollywood, with a shining career graph, hovering on with some of the best and big-budget movies on the row, has been in a bizarre controversy of late. That’s that, rumours were making some over the top clangour stating that the actor got bankrupt, while it isn’t the reality.
An unusual report states that Cage spent a whopping 150 million dollars, which apparently is the amount that he had in his bank, according to the report. The report states further that he blew off the entire amount to live an extravagant lifestyle.
But brushing off all the rumours, the actor revealed that while several suggested he to file for bankruptcy, he never gave in to doing so! He rather took on VOD films in recent years and set the records right on the track. However, the Oscar winner while definitely took on the films to avoid the financial troubles, but he didn’t compromise with the script and the role. He stated to GQ Magazine, that even though it would have helped him in the crisis, he didn’t compromise with the artistry.
Talking to GQ Magazine, he explained, “When I was doing four movies a year, back to back to back, I still had to find something in them to be able to give it my all,” He added, “They didn’t work, all of them. Some of them were terrific, like ‘Mandy,’ but some of them didn’t work. But I never phoned it in. So if there was a misconception, it was that. That I was just doing it and not caring. I was caring.”
What’s more, the actor cleared off all his debts a year and a half ago already after he signed up for “The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent.”. In the film, Cage portrayed a fictionalised version of himself and earned immense appreciation for the same at the recent SXSW Film Festival.
