Mission Mangal has crossed the coveted Rs 200 crores collection benchmark in India, and in doing so, has smashed a few records as well. It has become Akshay Kumar’s first movie in his chequered career to do a business of more than Rs 200 crores. Sounds surprising, isn’t it, given the unbridled success Khiladi Kumar has enjoyed at the box office in recent years.
Mission Mangal also became the first Independence Day release to mop up 200 crores, beating the previous record set by Salman Khan’s Ek Tha Tiger, back in 2012.
Besides Akshay, Mission Mangal featured a powerful ensemble cast of Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Nithya Menen, Sonakshi Sinha, Kirti Kulhari and Sharman Joshi in pivotal roles.
