With the Maharashtra government re-imposing night curfew the cinemas which were just hobbling back to normalcy would now have to do a quick re-think With curfew on from 9 pm , the two evening shows in the movie theatres which invite the optimum patronage, stand cancelled.
There are reports coming in from production sources that the release of Jersey, the Shahid Kapoor remake of the Tamil hit of the same title, would now be postponed indefinitely.
Several other states are now seriously contemplating cautionary restrictions, thereby affecting the theatre business all over again.
The one film that may get the most badly affected by the night curfew in Maharashtra is S.S. Rajamouli’s RRR scheduled for release after numerous postponements , on January 7, 2022.
