It is no secret that actor Nithya Menen went on to win the National Award for Best Actress for her performance in the film, Thiruchitrambalam. This was quite a shift from the usual choices as seldom does it happen when an actress has won for a romantic comedy.

This led to an outrage on social media where the fans of actress Sai Pallavi would troll and criticize Menen’s win stating that Pallavi’s performance in the film, Gargi was more deserving by all means. This continued to get bigger and bigger.

Now, in an interview with an entertainment portal, Menen was asked about it, as she mentioned on the awards, stating that there is enough recognition for everyone and that awards are not a one-time event. She emphasized that awards happen every year, and everyone’s turn would eventually come, questioning why it is often treated as if such recognition would never happen again.

She explained that, for her, it was never just about one film but about her entire body of work. After the event, she met jury members from various regions such as Assam, Orissa, and Tamil Nadu, who shared that they had followed her work for years and appreciated it. She felt that the award was given in recognition of her artistry over the years.

Menen also acknowledged that there would always be people who would criticize, but pointed out that those who are doing better never engage in such negativity. She believed that people who are focused on achieving and doing good with their lives do not waste time talking about others. This perspective helped her stay grounded, as she preferred to ignore the critics and continue focusing on her work.

She highlighted the importance of working hard in silence and letting success speak for itself, quoting the saying, “Let your success make the noise.” After all these years, she felt that her work had already spoken for itself, and any reward she received was simply a reflection of that.

Nithya Menen co-starred Dhanush in the romantic comedy, Thiruchitrambalam which received rave reviews and was a box-office success as well.
