Telugu cinema’s Baahubali Prabhas’s next project Radhe Shyam, Kannada superstar Yash’s KGF2 and S S Rajamouli RRR(starring NTR Jr and Ramcharan Tejaa) are almost complete. Fans anxious about these mega picture shows being released on the digital platform, can breathe easy. None of the three above mega-experiences would be shrunk to fit the home medium.
Sources close to all three projects have confirmed to this writer that come what may, they won’t succumb to the home-streaming temptation.
Says mega-star Yash who is currently shooting with Sanjay Dutt and Raveena Tandon for the last lap of KGF 2, “Some projects render themselves naturally to the big screen . KGF is one of them.”
Apparently, the KGF2 and RRR producers are being offered huge amounts of money by leading digital platforms.
Reveals a source, “These two films are being offered anything between 150 crores and 200 crores. They aren’t biting the bait.”
Last week there was a growing buzz that the new James Bond flick No Time Die was being offered unheard-off amounts by Netflix and Apple. The Bond producers had to issue of clarification that No Time To Die is not for sale.
The producers of Radhe Shyam, RRR ad KGF2 are unlikely to issue any clarification about their supposed sale to the OTT platform. It probably suits them to have monstrous monies being mentioned in the context of their purchase and marketing.
