A complaint was filed against actor Kamaal R Khan in suburban Bandra, Mumbai, for making derogatory comments about late actors Rishi Kapoor and Irrfan Khan on social media.
The Yuva Sena’s core committee member, Rahul Kanal, filed the complaint, which led to an FIR being registered on Wednesday. According to media reports, on April 30, Khan posted tweets about Rishi Kapoor’s hospitalization, sarcastically hoping he wouldn’t die because wine shops were set to open soon. He also made derogatory comments about Irrfan Khan the day before his death on April 29.
“We have registered an FIR against Kamaal R Khan for making derogatory remarks about both the deceased actors under section 294 (punishment for obscene acts or words in public) and other provisions of the IPC,” a senior police official said to media.
No arrest has been made so far, and further probe is underway.
Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor succumbed to leukemia on April 30, less than 24 hours after Irrfan died of colon infection on April 29.
