Unlike other years, the 94th Academy Awards this time was full of controversy after Will Smith smacked Chris Rock in public. Apparently, Chris made an offensive joke about Will Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith’s health condition and that wasn’t appreciated by Will. This led to fan clubs and the world getting divided in terms of their stance on the incident.
While Will Smith has already issued an apology in public, his wife Jada Pinkett Smith broke her social media silence after sharing a post on healing. And now, finally, Chris Rock has reacted to the incident.
As per the reports in Times Of India, when Rock performed in a stand-up show in Boston, a section of the crowd asked him about how his weekend was to which he reacted saying,
“I’m still processing what happened, so at some point, I’ll talk about that shit,” Rock told the crowd. “It’ll be serious. It’ll be funny, but right now I’m going to tell some jokes.”
Meanwhile, on the other hand, the Academy has now claimed that after the slap incident, Will Smith was asked to leave but he had refused to do so citing his own reasons. Reports in the media reveal that the Academy might take forward their plan of action against Will for the controversial incident.
