But now it seems the shooting is over.In an exclusive chat with this writer,Amit who recently shot a segment of Lust Stories with Kajol in the lead, discloses the best-kept secret of the Hindi film industry. “My shooting of Maidaan was completed last year. What has delayed the release is the post-production work. The VFX in the film is very very complicated, We have had to move through the special-effects with care deliberation and leisure, hence the delay. But I think even that is done with now.”
So when is Maidaan being released? “That you will have to ask the producer Boney Kapoor, whether it is this year or next year, only he will be able to tell. All I can tell you is, I’ve put my whole and soul into Maidaan. The football matches are not faked. They feature authentic teams from various countries.As for Ajay Sir(Devgan) his performance in Maidaan will be talked about for years and years.”
Amit recently directed Ajay Devgan’s better-half Kajol in a short film for the Netflix anthology Lust Stories.
Speaking of that experience Amit says, “Working with Kajol M’aam was a dream come true. Not just she, but also Kumud Sir(Mishra).Now I want to make a full film with them.”
