‘Vidya Balan’, the name needs absolutely no introduction. Throughout all these years, Vidya has proved her mettle in Bollywood and has certainly shown the world that she’s here to ‘stay and slay’. Over the years, films like Parineeta, Heyy Babyy, Kahaani, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, The Dirty Picture, Tumhari Sulu and many more have proven that she’s operating in a different league altogether when compared to the rest of her contemporaries.
Vidya, as we all know is playing the role of Shakuntala Devi in hr next. When we asked Vidya regarding her biggest learning after meeting Shakuntala Devi, she said and we quote,
“Shakuntala Devi is one of the most complete women I have ever known. She’s not only a fantastic mathematician but she’s also an author. Now that’s quite a combination. And one thing in particular which attracted me was that she loves dressing up and getting decked up. She knows how to live and enjoy life to the fullest and that’s my biggest takeaway from her.”
When asked further about the challenges she faced when playing a real-life character, she added,
“Well, I wouldn’t really use the word ‘pressure’ here. More than pressure, for me, the preparation right from the body language to everything about the person has to be right. So for me, playing a real-life character is a lot more challenging compared to playing a fictional one where you go with the flow as per your understanding of the character compiled with the director’s vision.”
