Will it won’t it? The pendulum-like fate of Akshay Kumar’s big-ticket potential blockbuster Sooryavanshi will finally be decided this month. It is reliably learnt that Reliance Entertainment will take a final call in June on whether to release Rohit Shetty’s Akshay Kumar helmed cops actioner Sooryavanshi in movie theatres or the OTTplatform.

An informed source reveals, “The see-saw between a theatrical and digital release will finally end in June . Reliance Entertainment and Rohit Shetty have decided not to wait any longer. They will evaluate the Covid situation as soon as the lockdown is over and take a call.”

Sources in the government reveal that movie theatres may re-open by the middle of June or beginning of July, depending on the lockdown situation.

“If the situation permits, Sooryavanshi definitely goes into movie theatres. That’s where the whole team wants it to go,” a prominent member of the Soorayvanshi team reveals.

It is hoped that once Sooryavanshi shows the way other big-screen projects will also favour movie theatres. It should be mentioned here that Akshay Kumar’s other pending release Bell Bottom would be going to the OTT platform.
