‘RRR’ and ‘KGF’ weren’t originally Pan-India films – Ajay Devgn

Check out what Ajay Devgn has to say ahead of the release of Runway 34.

Ajay Devgn is one of the most popular and admired superstars in the Hindi entertainment industry in today’s time. The man has been working and entertaining the masses right from the very beginning of his career and over the years, he has certainly inspired generations one after the other. After having been a part of a spree of successful movies in recent times, Ajay will now be seen as both an actor as well as a director in Runway 34. The movie also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Rakul Preet Singh in important roles.

During a conversation with IWMBuzz, when asked about what he learnt new about pilots and the art of flying a plane, he revealed,

“Quite a lot tbh. Can’t reveal much as you will have to watch the film. But yes, without any element of doubt, a lot. It’s not like a car driver or a bus driver. There, in general, the passengers see what’s happening in front of you. So even if the driver gets a little casual, you can always say that ‘saamne yeh hai…wo hai…’. But when it comes to a plane, you trust the pilot with your life. Quite many details have been incorporated.”

When asked further about what he learnt from Amitabh Bachchan from the viewpoint of a director, he was quoted as saying,

“He is a legend. Whenever you are working with him in any capacity, you get goosebumps. He is of a different league altogether and he never fails to inspire us. My respect for him only grows more and more. Right from the way he prepares ahead of a shot to his concentration and focus, there’s a lot to learn”.

When asked further about the big box office success of Pan-India movies like ‘RRR’ and ‘KGF’, he concluded by saying,

“Well, we need to first understand the fact that movies aren’t made Pan-India from the very beginning. They become Pan-India over course of time. RRR and KGF weren’t originally Pan-India films. Because it was SS Rajamouli after the huge success of Bahubali and Bahubali 2, RRR became a Pan-India film with a Nationwide appeal. Same with KGF 2. Because KGF was such a big success, people were following the franchise already and that’s how it became Pan-India. Perhaps the writing and scripts can get a little better in Hindi cinema.”
