Somy Ali, Salman Khan’s ex-girlfriend, recently expressed her desire to meet Lawrence Bishnoi over a Zoom call. This came in the wake of Baba Siddiqui’s murder and fresh death threats against Salman. Many initially speculated that Somy’s statement was either to harm Salman or for her own publicity. However, she has now clarified her stance.
In an interview with Aaj Tak, Somy emphasized that her primary concern is to prevent violence and ensure no one gets harmed. She stressed that there is no personal benefit for her in this matter, nor does she seek publicity. Her motive, she explained, is solely to avoid any further bloodshed.
She revealed plans to meet Bishnoi in November to explain the situation on Salman’s behalf, while also stating that she sees no reason for Salman to apologize.
Somy mentioned that she had spoken to Salman about the Black Buck incident, and he told her that he was unaware of the animal’s significance to the Bishnoi community. Reflecting on her hunting experiences with Salman, she stressed that he had no intention to offend or harm the community’s beliefs.
She further added that she does not want Salman’s friends or family, including actors like Kajol, Tabu, Ajay Devgan, Raveena Tandon, or Saif Ali Khan, to be harmed. Somy believes Bishnoi’s demand for an apology is unjustified and seems more about gaining attention. She stated her intention to reason with him, describing him as misguided, and reiterated her firm stance against violence.
