Sooryavanshi not being postponed, confirm Reliance sources

This year’s biggest film Sooryavanshi is all set for a March 27 release, no doubt about it. There are reports on the internet claiming that the film’s release is being postponed due to the worldwide outbreak of Coronavirus.

However, sources from Reliance Entertainment completely deny any such move.

“There is no truth to these wild rumours. We are going ahead with the release of Sooryavanshi as per plan,” says the source.

March 27 is the day when Mumbai goes 24/7 with public entertainment outlets being sanctioned permission by the Maharashtra government to remain open round-the-clock. Sadly this historic widening of the recreational bandwidth coincides with the deadly viral outbreak which is keeping a sizeable section of the population indoors.

However, the chances of forthcoming films including Sooryavanshi being postponed, are remote.

“The losses incurred by the delay far outweigh the losses that a film may suffer because of the downsized audience. So it is more prudent to go ahead with the release,” says a source.

Rumours that two biggies Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi and Kabir Khan’s ’83 are going to be postponed abound. Both feature Ranveer Singh in the cast and both are co-produced by Reliance Entertainment.

And yes, the release of both Sooryavanshi and ’83 is in the safe zone at the moment.
