Sushant Singh Rajput's Last (Almost-Shelved) Film Turns A Goldmine For Producers

An Indian remake of the Hollywood weepie The Fault In Our Stars featuring Sushant Singh Rajput as a terminally ill loverboy, is suddenly big news after the actor’s sudden death.

The Hindi remake entitled Dil Bechara was earlier called Kizzie Aur Manny and has been ready for release since the last two years. No buyer was keen to come forward to release the film in theatres which was relegated to the cans as good as shelved.

But now with the film’s leading man’s death the release plans of Dil Bechara will be revived in a big way.

Dil Bechara is being premiered on the Disney-Hotstar OTT platform on July 24, as reported by us yesterday.

Trade analysts say, since this is the only unreleased film of Sushant, the clamour to get it into the public eye would be impressively exacerbated. The film is crucial for its debutante heroine Sanjana Sanghi and its debutant director, the well-known casting director Mukesh Chhabra. Fox-Star Studios, now merged into Disney-Hotstar is gearing up for a big OTT release for Sushant’s swan song where ironically he will be seen playing a dying man.
