“Tension leneka nahin, gyan deneka nahin”, says Tata Sons’ Chairman N Chandrasekaran to Ranveer Singh at IAA Leadership Awards

‘Had to wait a long time for advertisers to consider me!’ : says Ranveer Singh, who has been honoured as Brand Endorser of the year at the prestigious IAA Leadership Awards

It’s not every day that you get to see Bollywood star Ranveer Singh and N Chandrasekaran, chairman of Tata Sons’ enter into a wordplay. Both meritorious and mighty in their respective fields, given their awe-worthy achievements, however, their personalities are poles apart. Ranveer is gregarious as ever while Mr N Chandrasekaran is nuanced, almost nonchalant in his demeanour. The occasion was the prestigious IAA Leadership Awards where both stalwarts were honoured, and rightly so. Ranveer was announced the Brand Endorser of The Year while Mr N Chandrasekaran won the top prize of the night, Business Leader Of The Year.

Amidst the glitz, glamour and honour, almost in a yin-yang scenario, Ranveer and Mr N Chandrasekaran entered into a rather enlightening and heartening banter. Ranveer, with respectable exuberance, shot multiple questions to the Business Leader in the room and much to everyone’s admiration and amazement spoke and seeked advice on Bollywood’s current Box Office vulnerabilities to time management issues and work-life balance.

A visibly calm, almost like a seer, Mr N Chandrasekaran weighed his words and shot one life mantra after another on how important it is to “fall forward”, experiment, learn from mistakes, take chances and keep the focus on the goal. To an ever-curious Ranveer, he mentioned about importance of people in a company, team management, and also adapting to changing times while staying true to one’s course, not getting distracted by the competition.

While the audience soaked in the conversation between India’s biggest star and the country’s most revered business leader, laughter hit the ceiling when Mr N Chandrasekaran, like a swag king, replied on being asked about Bollywood movies, “I have absolutely no idea about Bollywood. But my mantra in life… is Tension leneka nahin, gyan deneka nahin.”

Salute sir!!! What a seeti-maar dialogue. Keep reading IWMBuzz.com.
