After facing criticism for her performance in the dance number Mere Mehboob from the film Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Vala Video, Triptii Dimri finally addressed the backlash. A section of the audience had found her dance moves in the song awkward, but the actor, undeterred, shared her thoughts in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India.
Triptii revealed that she wasn’t bothered by the trolling. For her, this was about stepping out of her comfort zone and experimenting with something new. Having recently gained attention from her brief appearance in Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal, Triptii admitted that this was her first time performing in a full-fledged dance number, and she saw the experience as a valuable learning opportunity.
Reflecting on her journey, she opened up about her growth as an actor. When she first started, she believed that acting alone would be enough to succeed. But over time, she realized that being an actor demanded much more—like mastering stage presence and honing skills in different areas, such as dancing. While she acknowledged that it’s impossible to be great at everything, she felt there was no harm in trying.
Looking back on the mixed responses her performance received, Triptii accepted that not everyone would like what she does. Still, she emphasized that this shouldn’t stop her or anyone from exploring new possibilities. She expressed her intent to continue experimenting in her career, even if it meant facing failures along the way. In her eyes, she’s not alone in being criticized for trying something different—it’s part of the journey.
Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Vala Video is set clash with Jigra on 11th October, 2024.
