Coming in as a shocker, actor Urmila Matondkar has filed for divorce from husband, Mohsin Akhtar Mir, a Kashmiri entrepreneur. The actor married Mir back in 2016 and the couple has now decided to part ways, even though either party is yet to issue an official statement the same.

According to a report, a source stated that the divorce isn’t on mutual terms and while the real reason for their separation remains unknown, the duo did confirm the news with a publication.

For the uninitiated, back in 2016, when news and images of Matondkar getting married to Mir dropped, it became a huge talking point mainly due to the age gap between the couple, where the actor is 10 years older than her husband. Their wedding was an intimate affair with only family and close friends in attendance.

Matondkar was vocal about receiving immense support and understanding from Mir over the years and talked about how she is blessed to be a wife and a daughter-in-law.

On the work front, Matondkar has had an active political career having joined the Shiv Sena back in 2020. Over the years, Matondkar has been very sporadic with her film or TV appearances, as she was last seen in the 2018 film, Blackmail in a song but her most notable role dates back to 2008 when she had two releases back-to-back in the form of Karzzzz and EMI. Matondkar also appeared as a judge on DID Super Moms in 2022.
