Tamil filmmaker Vignesh Shivan took a subtle jab at actor Dhanush in a recent social media post, referencing the actor’s old speech about positivity and love. This comes on the heels of an ongoing dispute between Dhanush and Nayanthara, Vignesh’s wife, after Dhanush reportedly sent her a legal notice concerning the use of certain footage in her upcoming Netflix documentary, Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale.

The controversy centers around Dhanush allegedly blocking the inclusion of clips from the 2015 film Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, which starred Nayanthara. In an open letter, Nayanthara accused Dhanush of being envious of those who succeed in the industry without influential connections.

In response to the situation, Vignesh posted an old video of Dhanush from the audio launch of the 2017 film Sakka Podu Podu Raja. In that speech, Dhanush discussed the need to avoid hate, suggesting people should focus on celebrating others’ successes. He emphasized, “If you like somebody, celebrate with them. If you don’t like somebody, just move on.”

Taking a swipe at Dhanush’s earlier words, Vignesh captioned the video with, “Vaazhu Vaazha udu #spreadLove #OmNamaShivaya, at least for the sake of some innocent die-hard fans who believe all of this! I sincerely pray to God for people to change and find happiness in other people’s happiness.”

Nayanthara’s documentary, set to release on Netflix on November 18, 2024, aims to provide an in-depth look into her personal life and her journey in the industry. The film explores the struggles and milestones she has faced, ultimately earning her the title of the ‘lady superstar’ of Tamil cinema.
