Actor and singer Meiyang Chang was one the many people who decided to catch the iconic film, Omkara as it managed to get a release as a part of the Kareena Kapoor Film Festival.
Omkara, as known is widely regarded as one of the best films to be made and also director Vishal Bhardwaj’s finest being an adaptation of William Shakespeare’s Othello.
Owing to the re-release, Chang visited the theaters to catch the film and was spellbound by the fabulous artistry and filmmaking Bhardwaj was able to exhibit 18 years ago.
Putting a long story clip from the song, Beedi Jalai Le, Chang wrote, “KYA KEHNE @vishalrbhardwaj sir!!!! Bade parde par jaa kar dekh aaya aapki ‘Omkara’ aur uffff… kya baat hai aapki! The sharpness of the dialogues, the punch of the music, the witty comebacks, the magic of the hinterland even before it was a fad and the roundness of the screenplay. Ek dum PERFECT!!! Everyone involved in this adaptation of Shakespeare’s “Othello” is just fire! And what a crafty, finely made character in Langda Tyagi”-
This was seen and acknowledged by Oberoi, who is seen in the clip dancing on Beedi Jalai Le, and played the much-acclaimed role of Kesu Firangi. He reshared Chang’s story and added the fire emoji-
As known, Omkara was an adaptation of Shakespeare’s Othello and apart from being one of the finest films of 2006 but also earned immense critical acclaim and three awards at the 54th National Film Awards.
