Madhur Bhandarkar is one of the finest and most admired filmmakers that we have in the country. Over the years, Madhur has delivered some really hard-hitting films that have started conversations on important and relevant topics. Be it with ‘Chandni Bar’ many years back alongside the amazing Tabu to other films like Page 3, Fashion, Corporate, Heroine, and many more, he’s truly cemented his place and niche as a filmmaker who’s known for bringing realism in his films. Recently, Madhur was receiving a lot of love and appreciation for his good direction and work in ‘Babli Bouncer’ alongside the fantastic Tamannaah Bhatia and we loved it for real.
The trailer of the movie ‘India Lockdown’ by ZEE5 happened today and during the trailer launch, Madhur was asked about the primary thought process behind him wanting to make a film on a subject like this. Reacting to the same, the National award-winning filmmaker was quoted as saying,
“India Lockdown is a movie which is very close to my heart. The intention of the film is to not remind anyone of their own sufferings. There are 4 different stories from four different stratas of the society and there’s only one common link between all four and that’s their pain at that time. Their helplessness for their own personal reasons. We all should be filled with gratitude for having been able to survive the time of Lockdown the way we did. There was a lot of courage shown and it has only made all of us stronger. I have had the fortune of working with Sai Tamhankar, Aahana Kumra, Shweta Basu Prasad, Pratiek Babbar and others in this film and trust me when I say this, they all said yes to me in the very first narration. Honoured to have got so much respect and love from my actors.”
India Lockdown streams on ZEE5 from December 2nd, 2022. Well, what’s your take on this readers? Let us know your views in the comments section below and for more updates, stay tuned to IWMBuzz.com
