Celebrated Telugu actor Vijay Deverakonda, buoyed by the triumphant reception of his latest cinematic offering, “Kushi,” graced an event in Visakhapatnam on Monday with a heartwarming announcement. The actor declared his intention to extend financial assistance to 100 families, unveiling a pledge of ₹1 lakh for each household.
However, amid the widespread acclaim for Vijay Deverakonda’s philanthropic gesture, the industry witnessed an unexpected turn of events. Abhishek Nama, a prominent producer renowned for his support of Vijay’s 2020 film, “World Famous Lover,” entered the dialogue. Taking to the social media platform X, Nama penned a candid response to the actor’s benevolent act.
In his message, Nama revealed the substantial financial setback incurred by his production company, Abhishek Pictures, during the distribution phase of “World Famous Lover.” This setback amounted to a significant ₹8 crores, underscoring the financial challenges faced by those involved in the distribution and exhibition aspects of the film industry.
Abhishek Nama wrote, “Dear @TheDeverakonda We lost 8 crs in the distribution of #WorldFamousLover, but no one responded over it!! Now as you are donating 1CR to the families with your big heart, Kindly requesting & Hoping for you to save us and our Exhibitors & Distributors families also (smiling face and red heart emoticons)” as quoted by Hindustan Times.
Earlier, Vijay was heard saying, “I am announcing the distribution of one crore rupees to 100 families in order to share my joy with you. Each of the 100 families will receive one lakh rupees. This money is from my personal account,”
