We admire the women who dress simply but still look stunning. We’re especially fond of the understated saree looks that wowed us with their simplicity and transcendental beauty. We mean, when it comes to draping silk sarees, it is difficult to adhere to the ‘less-is-more’ style. And, when you have too many options, such as fancy footwear, embellished bags, and colorful jewelry, it is even more difficult to not overpower the saree look with all of these add-ons.
However, the trick to looking effortless often means letting go of all these tempting loud things and sticking to basics, as Radhika Apte demonstrates in her recent two (nearly identical) saree appearances. The actress wore a stunning emerald silk saree for the closing ceremony of the 19th Mumbai Film Festival and similar silk in muted yellow for Aamir Khan’s Diwali party. In both cases, the actress made the style stand out by selecting the right saree and blouse shades, as well as one statement piece of jewelry, to complete the look. Finally, a bright lip to complete the look. She gladly skipped the rest of her accessories in her look, and we adore this low-key look.
