Some Of The Most Underappreciated Movies By Chris Evans, Take A Look

Know the underrated movies of Chris Evans

If you’re missing Evans’ on-screen brilliance and can’t get enough of the MCU movies and Knives Out, here are a few of his other films you might have missed. These films may not always receive flawless reviews, but they are all compelling to watch and provide excellent opportunities for Evans to shine.

Cellular

Evans plays Ryan, an average guy who is brooding over his recent ex until he makes the mistake of answering a call from an unknown number in this early 2000s thriller. Cellular is an action thriller, but it’s comic parts make it more memorable. Evans masterfully portrays a character who is clearly out of his element but who, in good conscience, cannot refuse a call for assistance. It’s difficult to care about a character who spends much of his screen time glued to a phone and a steering wheel, but Evans pulls it off with his frenzied yet controlled performance.

Gifted

Evans’ new book, Gifted, is a complete departure from his previous work. He portrays Frank, a guy who adopts his niece Mary (Mckenna Grace), and discovers that she is a child prodigy who needs nurturing. Given the film’s domestic premise, it’s unsurprising that it’s a tearjerker. Evans and Grace have fantastic chemistry that allows them to portray a believable guardian-child relationship.

Push

Evans portrayed a different kind of superhero in Push before becoming Captain America. The film is set in Hong Kong, and it follows a group of psychics as they use their various skills to take down a clandestine organization out to hunt down their kind. Push is a gritty, fast-paced action film with a big ensemble cast.

Fierce People

In Fierce People, Chris Evans plays privileged child Bryce, who seems to be a predecessor to his character in Knives Out. Bryce is charming yet snobbish, which comes with being a privileged person. The layers of wickedness simmering beneath that enigmatic surface, on the other hand, are a sight to behold.

Sunshine

Sunshine is set in the future where the sun is withering and follows a group of astronauts tasked with reviving it. The journey is arduous since the crew is crammed into a small space on a high-stress mission. When they’re abruptly asked to take a detour, tempers are fraying. Sunshine is a sophisticated and thoughtful science-fiction picture that is also contentious. However, it is well worth watching, particularly for the characters. Evans portrays Mace, an engineer who is barely able to keep his wits about him.
