Audiences have been eagerly waiting for Superboys of Malegaon, excited to dive into its compelling story. After unveiling the trailer, Adarsh Gourav, who plays the role of Nasir in the film, visited the real-life setting of the film, turning the promotional tour into an immersive reel-to-real experience.
In a captivating moment, Adarsh spent a day with Nasir Shaikh, on whom the story is based. This reel-to-real connection was truly special, as Adarsh met Nasir’s family, spent some quality time at locations that are special to Nasir in shaping his journey and delved into memories having a heartfelt conversation with him.
Inspired by true events, the film is set in Malegaon, a small town in Maharashtra, and chronicles the journey of Nasir Shaikh (played by Adarsh Gourav), an amateur filmmaker who, along with his friends, turns the town into a hub of filmmaking passion.
Following its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) and acclaimed screenings at the 68th BFI London Film Festival, Red Sea International Film Festival, and more, Superboys of Malegaon has continued to gain global recognition, including a Young Cineastes Special Mention at the 2025 Palm Springs International Film Festival.
