Roadies: Karm Ya Kaand’s journey is all set to take the top 30 contestants on a rollercoaster ride of drama, adventure, and thrill. The 19th season of the genre-defining youth reality television show will embark on its quest from Kurukshetra to Kaza, travelling across Patiala, Chail, Kullu and Sissu en route. One gang leader who stands out in choosing contestants from all walks of life and embracing inclusivity is Rhea Chakraborty. The actress is using her voice to empower the contestants in the show.
Rhea fiercely dominates as one of the best leaders in the show. She is being extremely inclusive with who she chooses to be a part of her gang. Here’s a look at a few members who Rhea empathised with:
1. Shuly Nadar
Shuly Nadar is an Indian fitness model, callisthenics athlete. On the show she spoke about a traumatic experience of an abusive boyfriend, who also tried to molest her and her fight against discriminatory labels owing to her dark skin colour during her auditions for MTV Roadies.
Rhea reacted to Shuly and said this ”A lot of people say a lot of things. A lot of people have said a lot of things to me. the kind of names they’ve said to me… But will I accept that because of them? Will I stop my life because of them? Absolutely Not, Will I let their voices have any power at all? No, I have my own voice inside me and you have your own voice inside you. You listen to that, And actually to hell with them who are they?”
2. Bhoomika vasisht
She is known for her out-and-out fearlessness and fighting spirit. Bhoomika has been put in multiple challenging situations like fighting for her own identity when some of her private videos were leaked online.
Rhea had a very heartwarming response towards Bhoomika where she said: “You’re brave I admire your spirit that you have come here and sharing what you have gone through, though you’re smiling and dancing this is the real spirit to never give up so I respect that.I really connect with her!”
3. Shubham Chaudhary
Shubham stands out of the lot as the only dumb and deaf contestant in roadies, he sings and performs in sign language and to be a part of the show he worked on his physical strength . When Rhea heard this like the empowering leader that she is, she was extremely enthusiastic to have him be a part of her gang.
This is what she has to say about it :”I think that the spirit you have is amazing and very undieing and that’s the fighters spirit and i genuinely believe that impossible is nothing and it fills my heart to say I would love to have you in my gang”
These are few of the members that really struck out from the other members in Rhea’s gang. However the other contestants that are a part of Rhea’s gang are
Neerja Punia:
Neerja is a dancer, transwoman, LGBTQIA+ representative, runway model and social media influencer.
Tanu Rawat:
A social media star, yogini and a Hippie at heart, Tanu is also a model.
Manpreet Kaur:
Manpreet is a Bhangra choreographer . She has been awarded many awards for her bravery and courage when she survived an almost-fatal serial killer attack. But being the fighter that she is, she made sure that she gets the culprit caught.
Rhea has time and again proved that she is the best gang leader and empowers her members in every obstacle that they come across and teaches them how to come out stronger from any situation. She is bold, modern, open minded and excepting qualities that everyone would want their leader to have.
