From Cred to Sam Bahadur to Bandish Bandits 2, here’s the journey of casting director Kashish Arora!

Hailing from the Golden City, Amritsar, Kashish Arora is a man with a dream to make his mark in the film industry. Keeping his long-cherished dream close to his heart, he moved to Mumbai and embarked on a journey of his own. Actively participating in school theatre, he later graduated from Sri Venkateshwara College, Delhi University and was also a pivotal part of their dramatics society, Anubhuti. In 2017, he moved to Mumbai to pursue a professional career in the entertainment world. This marked the beginning of his journey toward becoming a casting director, and today, he scouts talent for major advertisements, web shows, and films.

Kashish Arora as an Assistant Director

Kashish began his journey in the entertainment industry as an assistant director and post-production supervisor. He worked on the project Girl In The City Season 2 and subsequently worked on ad films as an assistant director.

Kashish Arora as a Casting Associate

Kashish then took the next step in his career by exploring casting. He worked as a casting associate on renowned projects such as The Sky Is Pink, Bala, ABCD 3, Pati Patni Aur Woh, and Sitara.

At this stage, Kashish realized that his true calling lay in casting direction. After trying his hand at various roles in the film industry, he decided to focus on casting and begin a new chapter in his career.

The Birth of ‘Kashish Arora Casting’

When COVID-19 forced the world to pause and reflect, Kashish made a pivotal decision—he launched his own casting company, ‘Kashish Arora Casting’, in 2021.

In the past three years, he has cast for more than 100 advertisements for renowned brands like Cred, Amazon, Tinder, Flipkart, Lays, Spotify, PharmEasy, Kellogg’s Chocos, and Ariel, to name a few. He has also worked as a casting director on projects such as Ankahi Ansuni (a web show for Hotstar), the short film Laila Manju, and Butterflies Season 3 for Terribly Tiny Tales.

In a significant milestone, Kashish worked on Sam Bahadur, directed by Meghna Gulzar, as well as Bandish Bandits Season 2.

He is currently involved in the casting of several ads that are in the pipeline and projects whose details can’t be unveiled. He will also he headlining the casting for an untitled film directed by Siddhant Raj, which is yet to release.

From his early days as an assistant director to now owning his casting agency, Kashish Arora’s journey is nothing short of inspiring. With such an impressive start, his future in the industry looks incredibly promising.
