Excel Entertainment’s upcoming action thriller Ground Zero is inching closer to release, and the anticipation is building rapidly. Inspired by a real mission considered the BSF’s most significant operation in the past 50 years (conducted in 2015), the film promises a gripping, emotional, and high-stakes narrative set against the volatile backdrop of Kashmir.
The film recently made history with a special premiere hosted in Srinagar—marking the first movie premiere in the valley in 38 years—exclusively for BSF jawans. The event drew heartfelt reactions from Army dignitaries and security forces alike.
Reflecting on the premiere, director Tejas Deoskar shared how BSF officer Narendra Nath Dubey, whose story the film is based on, reacted:
“When we showed the film to Dubey sir and his family, the only thing I can express is that he hugged me so tightly and for so long. That hug said everything—his emotions, his response to seeing his story on screen. If the person whose journey I’ve portrayed is satisfied, that’s the only feedback I need.”
Deoskar also spoke about the family’s response:
“His family was emotional—they lived through this chapter with him. It’s not easy to be a soldier’s family. What Dubey sir endured, you’ll see it in the film—it’s beyond hard. For them to love the film… that’s the greatest validation I could ask for. It completes the journey for me as a filmmaker.”
In Ground Zero, Emraan Hashmi steps into the shoes of BSF Commandant Narendra Nath Dhar Dubey, delivering a performance that is raw, restrained, and powerfully transformative.
Excel Entertainment presents an Excel Entertainment Production, produced by Ritesh Sidhwani & Farhan Akhtar.
