Hombale Films took over 2022 with its action thriller ‘Kantara’. Bringing a story from the heartlands of India, the film won the hearts of the audience and critics alike. Having received many praises and awards at National and International podiums, the film has been nominated in the categories of Best Film and Best Actor (Male) at the 14th Indian Film Festival of Melbourne.
There doesn’t seem to be any stop for Rishab Shetty’s ‘Kantara’. The film is continuing the spree of shining at different renowned places. Kantara has now been nominated in the category of Best Film – Kannada and Rishab Shetty – Best Actor (Male) at the 14th edition of the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne which is the largest Indian film festival outside of Indian soil. The winners will be announced during the festival’s annual gala night on August 11, 2023. The event will take place at the iconic Hamer Hall in Melbourne.
With Kantara, the actor-director and writer Rishab Shetty offered a visual majesty that brought alive the traditional culture of Kambala and Bhoota Kola art form to the forefront. At the box office, the film emerged as the second highest-grossing Kannada film of all time and was also 2022’s third highest-grossing film in India. Moreover, the makers have left the audience in absolute surprise with the announcement of the upcoming part of Kantara which is going to be a prequel.
