Aamir Khan Productions’ Laapataa Ladies, directed by Kiran Rao, has been immensely loved by the audience and has earned amazing reviews from all corners. Following its amazing theatrical run, the film was released on OTT and received tremendous love and was subsequently released in Japan, where it opened to a roaring response. Additionally, the film achieved a remarkable milestone by earning an entry into the Oscars. While the film touched the hearts of the masses with its heartfelt story, it also captivated actress Kareena Kapoor Khan, who couldn’t stop raving about it.

In a recent event taking about Laapataa Ladies as an example, Kareena Kapoor highlighted the remarkable projects of Indian cinema. She said, “I want people to watch more and more Indian films. Whether it’s Laapataa Ladies that is now going on to the Oscars. It’s such a moment and also if you see the films that have always been chosen, have also been so true in its roots. The story of Laapataa Ladies is something that I am sure – it happens. You feel close to it and you see the journey of two women. And the whole idea is – it has put India and its emotions on the map, everyone is talking about it. It’s not like ki films dub ho rahi hai Russian mein, German mein, French mein. I think Indian language mein films dekh rahe hai.”

Set in rural India, the film follows the tale of two brides who are separated during a train journey, triggering a series of unexpected and complex events.

Presented by Jio Studios, ‘Laapataa Ladies’ is directed by Kiran Rao and produced by Aamir Khan and Jyoti Deshpande. Made under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions and Kindling Productions, with the script based on an award-winning story by Biplab Goswami, the film is still running in theaters. The screenplay and dialogue are written by Sneha Desai, while the additional dialogues have been jotted down by Divyanidhi Sharma.
