However, one of her most critically acclaimed roles was in the recent Tamil hit, Thangalaan starring Chiyaan Vikram which also marked a significant step in her career. The more films you do, you realize that the only thing you can do is give your best while you’re working on it-give it your all, so that you don’t have any creative regrets or feel like you haven’t done your best, shared Malavika. She further added, “But after that, the film really is in the hands of the film gods, it’s what I always say. You can’t control what happens after the film is released)” she shares.
Talking about her performance in Thangalaan, Malavika added, “For Thangalaan, I’m happy that I got an amazing response for my performance. It was one of the hardest roles I’ve ever done, being both physically and mentally challenging. As for Yudhra, it is what it is. Onto the next round.”
Malavika played a Goddess— a fierce, magical entity named Aarathi and her role as a strong and pivotal character in the film was lauded by critics and audiences alike for being intense and deeply layered.
