Sohum Shah, an actor, entrepreneur and founder of Sohum Shah Films, performance’s in Tumbbad captivated audiences with its intense storytelling and compelling acting. The film’s re-release amplified its success, gaining renewed attention for its unique narrative and rich visuals. In a recent interview, the actor revealed untold stories from the making of Tumbbad, offering fresh insights into its creative process and impact.

Talking about how he wanted to bring Tumbbad to the screens, Sohum revealed, “The vision I had for Tumbbad was so clear that I knew if I let it go, I might never find another project like it.” Sohum Shah added that one of the challenging parts of making Tumbbad was finding the right VFX team, “We were working with a Swedish company, but delays made them question our credibility.”

Determined to establish their trust, he went to Cannes with his team to try to convince them of their vision. Apparently, he was successful in this, as apparent from the visual excellence of this film that has added to its immersion. He further revealed how he did not rush to complete the film, saying, “We didn’t cut corners. We reshot when necessary, took time where needed, and ensured we perfected the product.”

Rahi Anil Barve directed Tumbbad, while Sohum Shah, Aanand L. Rai, Mukesh Shah, and Amita Shah produced it. The narrative centers around the village Tumbbad, where an ancient, evil, and hideous entity guards an incalculable ancestral riches hidden in a crumbling castle.

Sohum’s next big projects are Tumbbad 2, which promises to continue the beloved saga, and Crazxy, a film from Sohum Shah Films slated for release on March 7, 2025. The motion poster for Crazxy has already created excitement, and fans are eagerly anticipating the next chapter in Sohum’s filmmaking journey.
