Bollywood fans have reason to celebrate as acclaimed actress Tabu joins the cast of Akshay Kumar’s much-anticipated horror-comedy, Bhooth Bangla. The announcement was made by Akshay Kumar himself, who shared a picture on social media featuring him alongside Paresh Rawal from Jaipur.
Sharing the news on social media, Tabu posted a picture on social media trying to hint on her upcoming project, “Hum yahan bandh hain.”
Tabu who was last seen in Crew produced by Ektaa Kapoor also commented on the post saying, “Aaapka swaagat hai always an honour tabu mam.”
Bhooth Bangla promises to blend elements of humor and horror, a genre Akshay Kumar has mastered in previous hits like Bhool Bhulaiyaa and Laxmii. Tabu, known for her versatility and powerful performances in films like Andhadhun and Haider, is expected to bring a unique depth to the film.
The film’s shooting commenced last week in the culturally rich city of Jaipur. The historic locales of Rajasthan are expected to add a hauntingly beautiful backdrop to the film’s narrative. The crew has reportedly been filming in some of the city’s iconic spots, adding an authentic touch to the eerie yet comedic storyline.
Tabu’s entry into the project has raised expectations for the film, with fans eagerly anticipating how her dynamic with Akshay Kumar will play out on screen. Industry insiders suggest that Bhooth Bangla could be one of the standout films of the year, combining stellar performances with an engaging script.
Directed by Priyadarshan, Bhooth Bangla is produced by Shobha Kapoor and Ektaa R Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms and Akshay Kumar’s production house, Cape of Good Films. The film is co-produced by Faara Sheikh and Vedant Baali. The story is written by Akash A Kaushik and screenplay by Rohan Shankar, Abilash Nair and Priyadarshan. The dialogues are by Rohan Shankar. Bhooth Bangla is slated for it’s theatrical release on 2nd April 2026.
