Independence Day is a National Festival celebrated all over the globe by Indians. India got freedom from British rulers. And to make this day, several freedom fighters sacrificed their life. So Independence Day is a very emotional and prestigious day for every Indian.
This year the country will celebrate its 75th Independence Day. India got freedom on 15th August 1947.
Indian Cinema has recognized the sacrifices of Freedom fighters, and to celebrate their courageous deeds, there are many films and series made. And so today, we list out some of the Independence Day Special Movies.
1) Uri: The Surgical Strike starring Vicky Kaushal, is based on a true event. The film was released in 2019; it is the surgical strike taken by the Indian Military against Pakistani militants in POK.
2)Border is a multi-starrer film released in 1997. It is based on the true event of ‘The battle of Longewala’ The film showcased how Militants fought for the nation until their very last breath. It won many accolades and was a big hit.
3)Kesari staring Akshay Kumar, is also based on true events. The film is based on the Battle of Saragharhi. A tough battle between 21 soldiers of 36 Sikhs of the British Indian Army and 10,000 Afridi and Orakzai Pashtun tribes in 1897. The immortal love for the motherland is the highlight of the film.
