Producer Boney Kapoor is enjoying himself since his movie Thunivu, which stars Ajith Kumar, performed well at the Tamil Nadu box office. After the movie was released, Boney Kapoor had an exclusive interview with Pinkvilla. He talked about the action thriller directed by H Vinoth’s opening day performance and updated them on his plans as a producer. Boney revealed that he has had approaches from studios to combine many films into a series because the business is currently emphasizing sequels and franchises.

According to Pinkvilla, Boney Kapoor states in the No Entry sequel, “There is a demand for sequels of Wanted, No Entry and Mr. India. There are people who are wanting to make Hum Paanch all over again. Some of my films have already been remade in some or the other way. I know Woh Saat Din, I know Ponga Pandit. There are few films from our older slate which have been made again in a different world, with upscaled production.”

When asked for an update on this Anees Bazmee-directed hilarious escapade starring Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, and Fardeen Khan, Boney responded, “I can’t discuss this on camera and it’s not for the public domain. If it is destined to happen, it will happen. The script is there and the actors are there too. It’s just about everything falling in the right place.”

Boney Kapoor quickly clarifies that, contrary to media speculation, the movie is not mired in a legal quagmire. “There is no issue of legality as it is written about in the media. Everything is under control and things just have to fall in place.”

Boney Kapoor has confirmed the plans for a Mr. India sequel and stated, “I will make Mr. India 2. In fact, don’t be surprised if I start working on it soon.” Alongside Thunivu, Boney will release the Ajay Devgn–starrer Maidaan, which Amit Sharma directed. He is incredibly confident in the sports drama’s subject matter and believes it will be a turning point in Hindi cinema.

Boney Kapoor added, “I think, Amit Sharma has excelled and this film will have a shelf life as long as films are made. It’s not just a sports film, it has got the entire essence of that era, how the game was played, how the world was back then, how different linguistic the country was divided in, and a lot more.”

The movie does a great job of capturing all the components, he asserted, by adding, “It has a fantastic husband-wife relationship, fantastic father-son bond and there’s also a display of the equation between the federation and the coach. I feel this will be a landmark film.”
