Deepika Padukone and Samantha Akkineni are some of the leading actresses of the country. And it is no news that they are the highest-paid actresses in the country, yet get paid less than the male lead actors in a movie.
Several actresses from Vidya Balan to Kangana Ranaut many have raised the Equal Pay concern earlier, and have shown disappointment that despite the same and equal importance in the film, they get less paid than the male lead actor of the film. However, there were times when Sridevi and Madhuri Dixit used to get paid more than the male actors in a film, but they are noted as exceptions in the country!
However, with that Deepika Padukone and Samantha Akkineni are making leads to get equal pay; even conquering the “Leading” title, these actresses have been questing for a better paycheck, and have demanded of equivalent pay in a film in comparison to their male counterparts.
While even now these entertainers are not getting the equal pay as offered to the male hotshots, but by keeping a demand of better pay check amounts, they are ensuring the fact that they get equal values and significance in the films.
As per reports, Deepika Padukone has asked for 10 crores for her role in Nag Ashwin, along with Prabhas and Amitabh Bachchan. However, the makers duly agreed to the amount for they know that how much impact the stunning Padmavaat actress will have in the movie, and therefore will make it a huge success.
Samantha Akkineni, who became a hotshot after her work in Family Man 2, has been offered with 8 crores by Netflix to play the role of the protagonist in a trilingual web series.
Even though, Deepika Padukone and Samantha Akkineni aren’t getting the same amount as what the male stars are getting, but such changes in the B-town is showing the light towards the end of the tunnel!
