One can question Pawan Kalyan’s decision to play it safe by remaking movies in other languages given his enormous star power. With Vakeel Saab and Bheemla Nayak, Pawan Kalyan recently released two movies back-to-back. Both Pink and Ayyappanum Koshiyum remakes are being discussed. It looks like he has decided to recreate Vinodhaya Sitham, a different Tamil movie. Given his popularity, this is a disappointing development.
Remakes have always been Pawan Kalyan’s preference. In reality, he has acted in 27 movies so far. 14 of them are remakes. Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbayi, a remake of the Hindi film Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, served as Pawan’s first cinematic debut. In Shankar Dada MBBS and its sequel, Zindabad, Pawan made cameos. Coincidentally, both of these movies were remakes. Attarintiki Daredi, a 2013 release, was the final original movie acted by Pawan Kalyan to be a success.
Nevertheless, Pawan Kalyan has always acted and conducted in a unique way. When Khushi, Thammudu, and Badri were released, his screen presence and fashion sense appealed to the younger audience, making him an enigmatic superstar.
