1. Juhi Babbar-Arya Babbar: Son and daughter of actor-politician Raj Babbar and theatre aficionado Nadira Babbar, neither of the Babbar siblings succeeded in making a name in Bollywood. While Arya was launched by Raj Kanwar in Ab Ke Baras, Juhi got a proud home launch by papa Babbar in Kaash Aap Hamare Hote. Both siblings are trained and talented actors, but just not lucky enough.
2. Huma Qureshi-Saqib Saleem: Another pair of gifted siblings sharing the same profession. Despite admirable performances in Bombay Talkies and the webseries Rangbaaz Saqib’s career remains unfulfilled. Huma is doing better. She was much appreciated in Deepa Mehta’s webseries Leela and as a quasi-Rabri Devi in Maharani. She will soon be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s webseries Heeramandi.
3. Sonam Kapoor-Harshvardhan Kapoor: Anil Kapoor’s second daughter and only son are actors with different goals. Sonam has successfully pitched herself as Bollywood’s resident fashionista while Harshvardhan is a self-styled method actor struggling to find their bearings. They are as different in their career pitch as Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle.
4. Janhvi Kapoor-Arjun Kapoor: Siblings from different mothers, Janhvi and Arjun came close after Janhvi’s legendary mother Sridevi passed away suddenly. Now Janhvi can’t get enough of her ‘Arjun Bhaiyya’. Arjun in turn, treats Janhvi no different from his own sister Anshula. This particular sibling story needs a screen treatment.
5. Kareena -Ranbir: Ranbir’s sagi behna is not an actor. But his first cousin Kareena is. They are both exceptional actors disproving the myth that lightning doesn’t strike in the same place twice. Zoya Akhtar wanted to cast Kareena and Ranbir as siblings in Dil Dhadakne Do. But they refused to come together. Maybe some other time.
