Sushmita Sen is a divorced mother of two adopted kids named Renee and Alisah, and recently she revealed why she never got married. In an interview with Twinkle Khanna, Sushmita disclosed that Renee’s adoption meant that she never again met a man who didn’t understand her objectives. She asserts that even though she never expected anyone to share the burden with her, they also cannot ask her to step down because her daughter needed her until a certain age. In her life, Sushmita had met some really interesting guys, but the main reason she had never wed was that they had let her down. The actress added that her choice to be single had nothing to do with her children.
Her children were never considered, and if they were, she considers them to have acted with great grace. They have shown everyone in her life the same amount of love and respect and have welcomed them with open arms. Sushmita further said that despite three attempts at marriage, God intervened to save her. She felt that God had spared her and her children, though she would not say what calamity had befallen each of their lives.
