Kareena Kapoor and elder sister Karisma Kapoor happen to be the granddaughters of the late thespian film-maker Raj Kapoor. Raj Kapoor used to be fond of his grandkids, but the most loved of them all was Karisma is what sister Kareena has to say. A report on hindustantimes.com talked about Kareena complaining about grandfather Raj Kapoor loving her sister more than her. We take reference from that story for our write up here.
In an interview, Kareena said that the veteran actor shared a special bond with Karisma and that she used to feel left out because of it.
Asked if she has memories of him, Kareena told Simi Garewal in 2002, “Of course. Definitely, I do. But I have to be very honest, he loved my sister much more than he loved me.” When asked why she always complains about it and what made her feel this way, Kareena explained, “I think my sister has the blue eyes that he had. At least what I can remember, she used to get all the presents and all the chocolates.”
Recalling one such example of Karisma and Raj’s bond, Kareena said, “He used to love mangoes, and he used to store them in his fridge. And no one was allowed to go to his room except for Lolo (Karisma) and eat all the mangoes. And I was always left out, and never got even one.” Kareena agreed that it might have been this way because she was very young and Raj couldn’t communicate with her in the way he did with Karisma, who was seven years older than her. She added that she loved him a lot.”
Well, this is a cute sibling rivalry indeed!!
