Major performers used to frequently reside in Hollywood or its sister city of New York, but during the past several years, a plethora of famous people have changed their attitudes and left Tinseltown. A-listers like Matthew McConaughey, Marvel stars like Chris Hemsworth, and even well-known TV personalities like James Van Der Beek are among the renowned people who no longer call Los Angeles home. Ariel Winter, a member of the Modern Family, has now revealed her motivation for continuing the pattern.
Ariel Winter has spent the majority of her life in Los Angeles, in contrast to the countless immigrants and aspiring actors who move there each year. She recently admitted on her Modern Family co-star Julie Bowen’s podcast Quitters that she had actually been considering what lay ahead if she moved during the pandemic. People would frequently question her, “Where would I go?” she noticed.
“I just don’t know, what would I do? I just randomly looked and decided, ‘why not?’ so I decided within a week and a half to move. We sold our cars and got an Escalade to fit all the dogs on the drive. I put my house on the market, sold my house–we just went back and got the rest of our stuff. It was hard for me to decide that just because I’m leaving everyone I know in California.”
Ariel Winter, who was born in Virginia before beginning her career in Hollywood at a young age, relocated with her lover Luke Benward from California to Virginia. Although moving was a major decision, the actress says she still has relatives nearby and just told herself, “If I don’t like it anywhere, I can go.”
Ariel Winter said the move made sense for her and her spouse despite the fact that leaving the place where you’ve spent most of your life and driving across the nation to the opposite coast could seem like a massive leap. She claims that she has never enjoyed living in Los Angeles.
