Irrfan Khan, one of the most talented performers in the Indian film industry, has always stood out for his acting abilities and film selections; it’s no surprise that he’s a National Award winner. In his three-decade-long playing career, Irrfan not only left a mark in the business with his performances, but he also made sure that each part he played was unique. He appeared in films ranging from Paan Singh Tomar to Life of Pie, and Piku to The Lunchbox. And made the audience remember his parts for the rest of their lives. D-Day is a film about cross-border terrorism. The plot centres around an intelligence officer, Wali Khan (Irrfan Khan), and his squad of highly trained officers as they embark on a mission to apprehend India’s most wanted terrorist, Goldman (Rishi Kapoor). The film’s director, Nikhil Advani, performed an excellent job, and the crowd adored it.

Piku, starring Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Irrfan Khan, was a huge hit. The tale continues when Piku (Deepika Padukone), a self-assured lady, and her father Bhaskor Banerjee (Amitabh Bachchan), an elderly man concerned with his physical diseases, decide to take a road journey from Delhi to Kolkata. They are subsequently joined by Rana (Irrfan Khan), the proprietor of a cab business who takes them on the journey and develops a relationship with them. Irrfan’s role added a lot of levity to the film.

The story of Maqbool is inspired by William Shakespeare’s tragedy Macbeth. The plot centres around Miyan Maqbool (Irrfan Khan), Jahangir Khan’s right-hand man in Mumbai (Pankaj Kapoor). However, Maqbool falls in love with Nimmi (Tabu), Jahangir Khan’s mistress, and the two conspire to assassinate Jahangir Khan so that Maqbool may take over the Mumbai underworld. He then murders Jahangir Khan, and the two lovers, Nimmi and Maqbool, escape with their lives, but the two meet a horrible end.
